MetroGistics Hires John Heimann as Associate Vice President of IT

MetroGistics, a leading provider of automotive logistics services, has hired John Heimann as associate vice president of information technology.

Heimann has 28 years of experience managing IT and integration projects, including 20 years in the transportation industry, and has worked for two Fortune 500 companies.

In his new role, Heimann will help grow the day-to-day IT operations and development. He will also be heavily involved in the integration of MetroGistics’ customer relationship management (CRM) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms.

Heimann has extensive experience in the vehicle-transportation industry, having worked previously with MetroGistics founders William Billiter and Scott Naz. He most recently worked at Express Scripts in St. Louis, where he rose through the ranks from senior manager of IT to director of campaign management to director of integration and initiatives. Heimann’s IT career includes stints with Union Pacific Technologies and Transentric.

“John is a familiar and trusted technologist with roots in the vehicle-transportation space,” said Craig Clayton, vice president, information technology at MetroGistics. “He has moved up and been promoted at rapidly growing companies, and his experience will help our entire organization connect the dots and streamline IT operations.”

Heimann earned his bachelor’s degree in computer management from Eastern Illinois University. In his spare time, he enjoys playing volleyball and softball with friends and traveling with his wife Ann. The couple has two sons, Quinn and Cameron, who are presently enrolled at University of Minnesota and University of Missouri, respectively.
