In San Francisco, a Bolt EV was stopped behind a taxicab, when the cab driver – for unknown reasons – exited the vehicle and decided to sucker-punch the autonomous auto, leaving a scratch on the front passenger’s-side window.
It’s not difficult to understand why a licensed taxi driver, already losing business to smartphone-based ride-hailing services, might lash out at technology that by many reports will eventually render his or her job irrelevant.
Human Lyft and Uber drivers may feel the same way once those companies begin switching to autonomous rides.
