Holman Parts Distribution®, an industry-leading supplier of original equipment (OE) powertrain products, today announced the company has been recognized as an accredited NAFA Sustainable Fleet. This marks the second time Holman Parts Distribution has received NAFA Sustainable Fleet accreditation. The company also reached tier 4 status, a first for Holman Parts Distribution and a level only 17 percent of participating fleets attain.
“Sustainability is integral to how we operate our business and this accreditation further validates the significance of our efforts to continue to reduce our carbon footprint,” said John Conte, Manager, Logistics and Operations, Holman Parts Distribution. “The transportation industry has the opportunity to reduce greenhouse gas emissions on a global scale and it is critical we understand the importance of committing to clean driving practices.”
The NAFA Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program acknowledges fleets who successfully demonstrate a credible sustainability plan and have made meaningful progress toward reducing their total emissions and the negative environmental impact via extraneous carbon fuel usage.
Holman Parts Distribution’s comprehensive sustainability plan is comprised of initiatives such as training to reinforce eco-friendly driving habits, the implementation of more fuel efficient fleet vehicles and the installation of telematics devices to monitor fuel usage and idling times. Through these efforts, Holman Parts Distribution was able to reduce the company’s greenhouse gas emissions by nearly four percent in 2017.
“Holman Parts Distribution sets an example that many more fleets can follow, and the company will be honored for its leadership and commitment to sustainability,” said NAFA CEO Phillip E. Russo, CAE. “As a collective fleet industry, we have a unique opportunity to positively impact our environment, and make a difference to the bottom line as well. The NAFA Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program gives fleet managers the tools and resources to reduce overall fuel consumption and realize quantifiable sustainability improvements.”
NAFA’s Sustainable Fleet Accreditation Program brings clarity, definition, and recognition to what sustainability means for fleets. The program is now the worldwide standard for recognizing concrete improvements in air quality through reducing emissions, increasing fuel efficiency, and reducing fuel use.
