Want More from the NAFA Foundation? Contribute to its ‘Cornerstones of Fleet’ Fundraising Campaign!

Members of the NAFA Fleet Management Association know how much it has helped support their careers in so many ways: through its annual Institute & Exposition, webinars, educational programs, publications, and networking opportunities. But do you know that behind NAFA stands the NAFA Foundation, a non-profit organization that does even more?

Since its beginnings in 1976, the Foundation has expanded its role from working with institutions of higher learning to publishing case studies relating to vehicle fleet management, offering scholarships, funding computer-based tools for making fleet management decisions, and conducting industry benchmarking studies. More recently, the Foundation has funded two white papers and, this year, is hosting “Mobility Day” at the Institute & Expo Wednesday, April 17, in Louisville, Kentucky.

But it wants to do more. That’s why it has launched its Cornerstones of Fleet fundraising campaign, with a goal of collecting $150,000 in tax-deductible donations, and it’s seeking the donations from organizations, NAFA chapters and individuals alike. And the plan, according to the campaign’s literature, is “to fund projects critical to the industry, such as an extensive ‘job task analysis’ to determine the skills and education necessary for the fleet manager of the future, and several benchmarking surveys the industry so desperately needs.”

Benefits of donating

For each category of donor, there are different defined levels of tax-deductible contribution: bronze, silver, gold and platinum. For individuals, the amounts range from $100 to $1,000 or more; for chapters, $250 to $1,000 and above; and for companies, the range starts at $1,000 and tops out at $10,000 or more.

Benefits vary depending on donation category level, but include:

• Up to two seats on the NAFA Foundation Advisory Task Force (company donors only)
• Free admission for up to eight individuals to take part in any NAFA Foundation event,
• Pre-release access to NAFA Foundation research, and input into the creation of research processes and questionnaires
• I&E branding (company donors only)
• I&E recognition on signage
• No-cost Chapter meeting developed from the Foundation research
