Monroe, North Carolina-based hauler Greg Eudy, the owner of Greg Eudy Trucking, showed his custom 2000 Peterbilt 379, "The Copper Kettle," at the Kenly 95 East Coast Jamboree earlier this month.
When he bought the truck in 2016, he says "it was a blank canvas." It was a day cab with a short wheelbase, so he stretched it and added a flattop sleeper off of a Peterbilt 359. He also replaced the hood and added the visor, lights and stacks.
Under the hood is a 550-hp 6NZ Cat with an 18-speed and 3:70 rears. He uses the truck to haul sand and rock to concrete plants locally for Reynolds Trucking, based in Indian Trail, North Carolina.
One of the more unique features on the truck is its paint scheme. Eudy says he works on hot rods some, and he got the idea for the Sunburst Orange scheme at hot rod events. Depending on how the light hits the truck, it can look brown, orange or copper -- how the truck's moniker came about.
