Thursday at the Mid-America Trucking Show, Trucker Path announced the launch of its latest service for owner-operators — Trucker Path Dispatch.
The company’s Dispatch service provides users a personal dispatcher to help operators find loads, negotiate rates, handle check calls, monitor compliance and handle digital paperwork for invoicing -- for 5% of the load's gross.
When an owner joins the service, they will be interviewed by their dispatcher to learn more about their operation, what lanes they want to run, what commodities they want to haul and more. The dispatcher then matches loads to the operator’s criteria.
“With Trucker Path Dispatch, we handle all the back-office work so drivers can just concentrate on driving,” said Chris Oliver, Chief Marketing Officer at Trucker Path. “The personalized approach lets drivers determine their lane and commodity preferences, and then we find the loads they want to haul at profitable rates, eliminate forced dispatches, handle the check calls, and also help with finding parking and the best places to shut down at the end of a shift."
The service is in addition to a "fuel optimization feature that can help drivers experience significant savings on fuel costs,” Oliver added.
At launch, Oliver noted the platform has about a dozen in-house dispatchers who will be available to drivers around the clock. If a driver’s personal dispatcher isn’t available when the driver calls, the call will go out to others at the ready.
There are no long-term contracts or other subscription fees. Trucker Path plans to add more packages in the future with more features, which will be available for a higher percentage of the load.
To get started with Trucker Path Dispatch, drivers simply submit their Motor Carrier Authority, Certificate of Insurance and W-9 tax forms, sign a Service Level Agreement and begin sharing their load and lane preferences with a personal dispatcher.
The introduction come on the heels of the launch of the Command TMS from Trucker Path, targeted specifically to small fleet operations -- its driver interface for dispatch is the quite well-utilized Trucker Path app, offering all manner of other utility for users.
The Command platform can be configured with a customized, company-branded version of the Trucker Path mobile app.
Oliver called it a “new kind of TMS" given driver-relationship-building features. Drivers no longer have to jump between the Trucker Path app and their company's TMS system's in-cab module. "Parking, navigation, track and trace and operations are all in one place.”
