NY: Latest Drivewyze state

Drivewyze PreClear Drivewyze announced that its PreClear bypass service has been added in the state of New York. The mobile-based weigh station and inspection site bypass service is now available at 478 locations in 33 states around the country. PreClear users began receiving bypasses in January at nine locations on I-81 and I-88 near Syracuse and Binghamton, and I-87 near Albany and Saratoga Springs, with more locations to be added soon.

A map with all of the currently active weigh stations and inspection sites in New York and across the country is available on the Drivewyze web site.

Drivewyze uses cellular technology and the internet to add transponder-like functionality to electronic logging devices, smartphones and tablets instead of dedicated short-range communication transponders and transponder readers. Drivewyze PreClear 3.0, the newest version of the weigh station application, comes with Weigh Station Heads-Up service for real-time notifications for more than 700 weigh stations and inspection sites nationwide. While the notification service is free, the bypass service is subscription-based and starts at $15.75 per vehicle per month with free trial offers and volume discounts available. The bypass application can be used on Android and iOS-based tablets or smartphones, and is integrated into PeopleNet Blu.2 and Tablet devices, the Zonar 2020 mobile communications tablet, and the Rand McNally TND 760 fleet management device.
