Nebraska's Gov. Pete Ricketts has approved legislation that will establish a new program offering rebates for alternative-fuel vehicle conversions, according to documents from the state legislature.
The legislation (L.B. 581), called the Nebraska Clean-Burning Motor Fuel Development Act, will allocate $500,000 for the rebate program, which will offer up to $4,500 for the conversion of a vehicle to liquefied natural gas (LNG) or compressed natural gas (CNG), propane autogas, hydrogen fuel cells, or gasoline containing 15 percent ethanol or more, according to the state legislature.
The program will also offer a rebate of up to $2,500 for the establishment of a residence-based, non-commercial CNG refueling system.
