A Nebraska truck driver has been sentenced after being charged in March and pleading guilty in August to threatening an FMCSA employee.
Ronald Mockelman was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Lincoln, Neb., to nine months in jail, 40 hours of community service and one year supervised release.
According to the Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General, Mockelman made several threatening phone calls to FMCSA’s Nebraska Division offices. He threatened bodily injury in the phone calls in retaliation for FMCSA issuing a fine for failing to adhere to safety regulations. On the same day, Mockelman allegedly made several threatening calls to the FMCSA Midwestern Service Center in Illinois.
