San Francisco-based Voyomotive plans to offer an OBD II controller that can provide an array of vehicle performance and diagnostics data to a user's smartphone as a lower-cost telematics solution.
Voyomotive will offer the VOYO system that includes the controller and an optional relay for $99 and $50 respectively. Service plans will retail for $30 (1 year), $60 (3 years), or $100 (lifetime).
The company plans to ship the first units in February for late-model Ford, General Motors, and Toyota vehicles no older than the 1996 model year. Voyomotive launched a Kickstarter campaign for the system on Oct. 21. As of Oct. 23, 394 backers have pledged $47,774 toward the $50,000 goal.
The system offers features such as Autokey, Immobilization, Vehicle Network, Trip Logger, Aware Alerts, Advanced Diagnostics, EcoStart, Gamification, Privacy, and Security. Visit the company's website for full details.
