Kia's 2016 Optima Hybrid mid-size sedan has been rated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to achieve 40 miles per gallon on the highway, 36 mpg in city driving, and 38 mpg in combined cycles.

Kia is carrying over the Optima Hybrid model from the 2015-MY, and again offering it in two trim levels, including the Optima Hybrid and Optima Hybrid EX. The car is powered by a 2.4L inline-four gasoline engine and 47-kilowatt lithium polymer battery paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The Hybrid Convenience Package  adds a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, UVO eServices with rear-camera display, LED front positioning headlights, and an acoustic laminated windshield and front door windows to reduce cabin noise.

The Hybrid EX can further be dressed up with the Technology Package, which adds the Panoramic sunroof with gloss black B-pillars, Blind-Spot Detection (BSD) with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), and a Back-up Warning System.
