Diesel price continues to drop, down 1.3 cents in previous week

The U.S.’ average diesel price dropped 1.3 cents during the week ending Nov. 2, according to the Department of Energy’s weekly report.

The average price of a gallon of on-highway diesel is now $2.485 nationwide. Prices dropped in all regions except California and the Lower Atlantic region. California saw an increase of four-tenths of a cent, and prices stayed even in the Lower Atlantic region.

The most significant decrease came in the Midwest region, where prices dropped 2.4 cents, followed by the West Coast less California region, where prices dropped 1.8 cents.

The nation’s most expensive diesel can be found in California at $2.817 per gallon, followed by the Central Atlantic region at $2.604 per gallon.

The cheapest diesel can be found in the Gulf Coast region at $2.29 per gallon, followed by the Lower Atlantic region at $2.396 per gallon.

Prices in other regions are as follows:

•New England – $2.546
•Midwest – $2.516
•Rocky Mountain – $2.497
•West Coast less California – $2.549
