FCA US is recalling 441,578 2011-2016 model-year Dodge Charger sedans in the U.S. so dealers can provide wheel chocks for use when employing a tire jack to change wheels, the automaker reported.
“When positioned diagonally opposite to the wheel being changed, the chocks will help stabilize the vehicle,” FCA US said in a released statement. “Failure to follow the [owner] manual’s instructions with an affected vehicle may cause the vehicle to come off the tire jack.”
FCA US added it is aware of three minor injuries linked to the instability issue.
The recall campaign also covers an estimated 19,229 Chargers in Canada, 4,969 in Mexico, and 38,947 outside the NAFTA region.
Recall notices will inform vehicle owners when they can obtain their free-of-charge wheel chocks.
