General Motors is recalling 426,573 2015-2016 model-year Chevrolet Silverado HD, GMC Sierra HD and Chevrolet Tahoe police vehicles in the U.S. because of potential brake pedal failure, Reuters reported.
Additionally, the recall affects 46,837 vehicles in Canada.
Because of a faulty brake pedal pivot nut, the brake pedal may loosen or become inoperative. However, GM noted it is unaware of any injuries or crashes tied to the problem.
Dealers will conduct an inspection and, if necessary, apply adhesive to the nut and reinstall it to resolve the issue.
