Subaru of America is recalling 18,200 2015-2016 model-year WRX sedans and Forester 2.0XT SUVs because their turbocharged air intake ducts may crack and result in engine stalling, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
The WRX sedans were manufactured from April 10, 2015, to Oct. 21, 2015. The Forester 2.0XT SUVs were manufactured from April 10, 2015, to Oct. 20, 2015.
Subaru dealers will inspect each vehicle’s turbocharger air intake duct. It will be replaced, if necessary, depending on the lot number found on the duct. There will be no charge for this service, NHTSA reported.
Vehicle owners can reach Subaru customer service at (800) 782-2783. Subaru’s number for this recall is WTA-62.
