BMW's 2017 740e plug-in hybrid should deliver a combined fuel economy of 64 miles per gallon equivalent and provides 14 miles of electric range, the automaker has announced.
BMW is pairing a four-cylinder gasoline engine with a 20-kilowatt motor and lithium-ion battery pack with a 6.5-kWh net capacity. The vehicle will generate 322 hp of total system output.
BMW redesigned its 7 Series luxury sedan for 2016 as a lighter-weight flagship model with higher-tech feature.
The 2017 740e will arrive at dealer lots this month and retail for at least $90,095.
