Subaru of America is recalling 25,567 Subaru Impreza cars in the 2017 model year because a software problem may cause the rearview camera display to malfunction, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
“A rearview camera display that does not function as designed can reduce the driver’s view of what is behind the car, increasing the risk of a crash,” NHTSA said on its website.
Dealers will update the infotainment software, free of charge, to resolve the problem. The recall is expected to begin on March 20.
Vehicle owners can reach Subaru customer service at (800) 782-2783. Subaru’s number for the recall is WTN-74.
