General Motors will build a supplier park in Arlington, Texas, to support future vehicle production at its local plant that assembles its large SUVs.
Arlington Assembly builds the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban, GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, and Cadillac Escalade. The plant has been in operation since 1954.
The new automotive logistics center is expected to house up to 1,250 employees, including 850 new jobs. It will offer more than 1.2 million square feet of manufacturing and warehouse buildings.
International Automotive Components (IAC) Group, which supplies interior components, has agreed to operate in the center, which should be operational in 2018.
