A. There are a few major qualities to look for in an ELD provider. Below are some check list items that can get you started.
- Be on the lookout for a demonstrated history of helping fleets of different sizes in different industries to compliant with ELD and Hours of Service (HOS).
- Make sure the vendor is credible and find out how long they have been providing their services to their customers.
- Do some research to see if the provider has dedicated investment dollars to creating new compliance-oriented features and solutions (where there is money, there is commitment and that’s always a good thing).
- Verify that the vendor’s ELD solution has been tested by a credible third party. Conducting tests to properly certify the solution is a large but necessary investment for ELD vendors – if they’ve made that investment, consider it a vote of confidence.
