BMW plans to offer 25 vehicles with some kind of electrification by 2025, including 12 battery-electric models, the company's chairman said ahead of the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show.
In 2017, BMW plans to deliver 100,000 electrified vehicles to customers, which will mean there will be more than 200,000 such vehicles on the roads globally, said Harald Kruger, board chairman of BMW AG.
On Sept. 7, BMW showed a concept electric MINI that will be released in 2019. BMW will introduce its X3 compact SUV as a battery-electric model in 2020. Fully electric vehicles will be given the "i" nomenclature.
BMW plans to develop a four-door, fully-electric vehicle between the i3 and i8.
