California's Gov. Jerry Brown is reportedly considering banning the sale of vehicles with internal-combustion engines, a clean air regulator in that state told Bloomberg.
Mary Nichols, chairman of the California Air Resources Board, mentioned the idea during an interview with the publication on Sept. 22. A ban like this would be at least a decade away.
The move would follow similar moves by China, France, and the United Kingdom.
Nichols said she believes the state could stop all sales of internal-combustion cars by 2030.
