Chevrolet is celebrating 100 years of producing pickup trucks by offering special editions of its Silverado and Colorado pickups that have been inspired by earlier trucks in its history, including the 1918 One-Ton.
Chevrolet announced the new models ahead of the Texas State Fair in a state where one of every five pickups is sold.
The centennial editions will feature special badging that includes a throwback bow-tie logo with a dark blue field and font that was used on the 1918 truck. The Silverado Centennial Edition will be available on the 1500 LTZ Z71 crew cab, while the Colorado Centennial Edition will be offered with the crew and extended cab models. The Silverados will arrive at dealer lots in October, while the Colorados will arrive in November.
The trucks will feature a 100-year door badge, spray-in bedliner with bowtie emblem, floor liners with a bowtie emblem, Centennial Blue exterior color, and chrome tow hooks. The Silverado will include 22-inch painted wheels with chrome inserts, all-terrain tires, and a chrome bowtie on the steering wheel, while the Colorado will add optional 18-inch wheels on the LT trim.
