Mercedes-Benz Readying Next-Gen Fuel Cell Tech

Mercedes-Benz will show a pre-production model of a hydrogen fuel cell-powered version of its GLC compact luxury SUV later this month at the IAA Frankfort Motor Show.

The GLC F-Cell is a pkug-in hybrid in that it combines fuell cell technology with an electric battery. Mercedes-Benz is getting ready to put the vehicle into production, the company announced.

Daimler's fleet of fuel-cell research vehicles has now reached more than 300 units that have drive nearly 18 million kilometers (11.18 million miles).
