Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling 414,134 2012 Jeep Liberty SUVs and 2012-2013 Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger sedans in the U.S. because active head restraints may not deploy properly during certain types of rear crashes, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The recall covers a total of 469,988 vehicles worldwide. Dealers will replace the occupant restraint control modules. There will be no charge for this service.

The problem, identified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, is tied to a faulty component used in the occupant restraint modules. The issue raises the risk of occupant whiplash during a collision.
