Shell has opened a retail station in Southern California that allows drivers of hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to fill up and pay for the fuel with a credit card.
The station, which opened on Oct. 9, had previously been used by manufacturers such as Toyota and Honda as a testing station for hydrogen fuel cell prototypes.
The station now accepts credit card payments for the highly-pressurized gaseous hydrogen fuel.
Officials from Shell, Toyota, the City of Torrance, and state leaders attended the event in Torrance that marked the opening of the station to the public.
