Wheels, Inc. has named Canfield Equipment its 2017 Up-fit Supplier of the Year and provided the company with an award on Nov.10 for performance excellence, exemplary service and innovation.
Wheels presented the award to Canfield's executive team, including Larry Gibson, president and CEO; Nate Gibson, vice president of sales, and Dave Decker, director of strategic planning, at the Wheels headquarters in Des Plaines, Illinois.
This is the second year that Wheels has recognized an Up-fit Supplier of the Year chosen through its preferred supplier program.
As part of the supply chain management protocol, Wheels monitors suppliers' monthly performance in key metrics, including on-time completion, defects per truck, quote turn times, and cycle time. The Supplier of the Year distinction rewards the upfitter who achieved best annual performance overall.
"Canfield has continuously operated at a high level of excellence throughout 2017, and it is our privilege to commemorate their success with the Wheels Up-Fit Supplier of the Year award," said Joe Brightwell, supply chain, quality and operational excellence manager. "Not only did Canfield provide outstanding performance across every category, but they are also a great partner and highly engaged in strategic initiatives to help Wheels meet our client needs, including our Roadmap to Supplier Success and Operating Cost Reduction programs."
During a reception following the awards ceremony, Wheels presented Canfield with a banner signed by members of their truck engineering team.
"We appreciate this recognition and our longstanding partnership with Wheels. It takes both parties to achieve success, and without support from the Wheels truck engineering department this level of achievement wouldn't be possible," Canfield's Decker said.
Based in Warren, Michigan with a second location in Maryland, Canfield Equipment Service Inc. is a turn-key up-fitter for fleet, commercial, law enforcement vehicles and customized commercial van conversions. The family-owned company is entering its 40th year.
