Volkswagen of America, Inc. unveiled the 2019 model-year Jetta at the North American International Auto Show.
The new model year features an exterior redesign, enhanced interior capacity, and a lower starting price than the outgoing model year, according to Volkswagen.
The new Jetta will continue to use Volkswagen’s 1.4-liter turbocharged and direct-injection TSI engine that the previous model year used. The engine produces 147 hp and 184 lb.-ft. of torque and can be mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.
All 2019 Jetta trims will come standard with rear-view cameras. Additionally, automatic transmission models will come standard with a start / stop system designed to improve fuel efficiency. SEL and SEL premium models will also feature a standard digital cockpit display.
All available trims for the 2019 Jetta will include S, SE, SEL, SEL Premium, and a sporty R-Line trim. Vehicles are expected to arrive at U.S. Volkswagen dealers in the second quarter of 2018.
