Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing is recalling approximately 8,769 2017 Tundra pickups because one of the rear split bench seat leg brackets may not be properly anchored to the truck’s floor pan.
The seat could potentially move in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupant, according to documents submitted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
To fix the problem, Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will tighten the five leg bracket bolts on the seat as needed with no charge to owners.
The recall begins on March 12. Tundra owners can reach Toyota customer service at (888) 270-9371. Toyota’s reference number for this recall is J0I.
