Passenger car registrations for the Europe Union grew 4.3% in February, which was the largest increase in terms of volume for the month since 2008.
New registrations for passenger cars totaled at 1,125,397, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA). Spain reported the strongest gains, increasing 13%, which was followed by Germany (7.4%) and France (4.3%).
Meanwhile, the U.K. posted a 2.8% decline, a region where car sales declined for the 11th consecutive month, and Italy declined by 1.4%, according to the ACEA.
For the first two months of 2018, demand for new cars increased by 5.8% in the EU, counting for 2,378,965 units total. Car registrations for Spain, Germany, and France continued to grow during this period of time.
