Nissan is launching a new body-on-frame SUV for China and other Asian countries this Spring, which uses the chassis of the Navara small pickup truck.
The release of the new Terra SUV will follow suit with the automakers focus on capturing the potential of the light commercial vehicle (LCV) division, according to the automaker. One in every six Nissan vehicles sold globally is a frame-based vehicle or an LCV.
In 2017, Nissan’s global frame and LCV sales reached 907,929 vehicles - about a 7% increase from the prior year, according to the automaker. Details of its powertrain have yet to be announced.
