NAFA Partners with Auto-ISAC for Vehicle Security Advocacy

The NAFA Fleet Management Association has named the Automotive Information Sharing and Analysis Center (Auto-ISAC) as a strategic partner in an effort to advocate vehicle safety and security for the fleet and mobility profession.

Auto-ISAC is an alliance of auto industry suppliers and automakers created to enhance cybersecurity awareness and collaboration across the global automotive industry, NAFA said in a release.

“With today’s high-tech vehicles running on multiple computers and networks, hackers have ample ability to break into the vehicle’s controls,” said NAFA Chief Executive Officer Phillip E. Russo, CAE.

Auto-ISAC operates a central hub for sharing, tracking, and analyzing intelligence about cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents related to the connected vehicle. Auto-ISAC members account for more than 99% of light-duty vehicles in North America, with over 30 global OEM and supplier members, according to NAFA.

Faye Francy, executive director at Auto-ISAC, recently presented at the 2018 Conference of Automotive Remarketing in March on the formation of Auto-ISAC and its significance for the automotive industry.
