Western States Trucking Association challenges California trucking laws with petition, lawsuit

The petition filed with the U.S. DOT asks the agency to declare that, for drivers of oversize and overweight loads, federal HOS regs supersede California’s laws. The lawsuit against the state, meanwhile, seeks “to nullify the Supreme Court ruling that effectively eliminates the use of owner-operators, even one-truck motor carriers from the trucking marketplace,” says WSTA’s Joe Rajkovacz.
