Drivers cited for distracted driving eight years ago could expected to see their premiums rise just $2 a year. Now, prices will jump $290 or 19%. Across the country, penalties for distracted driving range from just $87 in some states to $762 in others (5.5% to 56%). In some cities, the penalty nears $1,700.
