Audi will add a fifth diesel-powered passenger car to its U.S. lineup when it introduces the A4 TDI with the 2017 model year and bringing a TDI model to its top seller.
The A4 TDI model will coincide with the revamped ninth generation of the entry sports sedan. Audi provided details to a few media members at a press event in Ingolstadt, Germany, reports Motor Authority.
The 2017 A4 lineup will include a model powered by a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine that will produce 190 hp and 236 lb.-ft. of torque. Audi will also offer an updated 2.0-liter TSFI gasoline engine that will produce 252 hp and 273 lb.-ft. of torque.
The models should go on sale in the second quarter of 2016.
Audi now offers six diesel-powered models in the U.S., including the A3, A6, A7, and A8 L sedans, as well as Q5 and Q7 SUVs.
