The 2016 model-year Honda Pilot SUV has drawn a 5-Star overall safety score in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s New Car Assessment Program.
To qualify for this top overall safety rating, the model scored 5 stars in the side crash evaluation and 4 stars in both the frontal crash and rollover tests.
Previously, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety named the Pilot a Top Safety Pick+ when equipped with an optional front crash prevention system.
Available on Pilot EX trims and above, Honda Sensing can help improve drivers’ situational awareness with such features as the Collision Mitigation Braking System with Forward Collision Warning, Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Road Departure Mitigation.
Standard safety equipment on all Honda models includes the Vehicle Stability Assist electronic stability control system, Anti-lock Braking System with Brake Assist, frontal air bags, side air bags, side-curtain air bags and a front-seat design that can help reduce the severity of neck injury in the event of a rear collision.
