Mazda North American Operations is recalling 180 2017-model year Mazda6 cars because the turn signals may not automatically cancel after completing a turn, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported.
The vehicles at issue were manufactured Aug. 12-Sept. 28 of this year. They’re all equipped with optional accessory fog lights. The problem stems from a faulty combination switch.
“A vehicle continuously driven with the turn signal flashing may result in confusion to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash,” NHTSA warned on its website.
Mazda dealers will replace the combination switch, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin this month.
Vehicle owners can reach Mazda customer service at (800) 222-5500. Mazda’s number for this recall is 0316J.
