BMW's 2018 X2 will arrive in the spring as a sleek X1-based crossover with a low-slung body and standard all-wheel-drive powertrain, BMW has announced.
The 2018 X2 will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four that makes 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine delivers power through an eight-speed automatic transmission. Most of the time, the X2 operated in front-wheel mode.
The vehicle will include extensive LED exterior lighting and cargo space of 21.6 cubic feet with the seats up and 50.1 cubic feet with the seats folded flat.
Despite its slot in the BMW nomenclature, the X2 is 3.2 inches shorter than the X1 and 2.8 inches lower. BMW will offer an M Sport version.
