Audi's A3 Sportback e-tron plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) will arrive at U.S. dealerships in October, making it the first Audi PHEV to reach the U.S. market, the automaker announced.
The PHEV will be available in three trim levels: $37,900 for the base-level Premium, $42,000 for the Premium Plus, and $46,800 for the Prestige. The vehicle is expected to qualify for a federal tax credit of $4,168, and buyers in some states may qualify for additional incentives, Audi added.
The A3 Sportback has been available for sale in Europe since late 2014, and it was originally scheduled to arrive at U.S. dealers in early 2015.
The A3 Sportback has a 1.4L TFSI engine that produces 204 hp and 258 lb-ft. of torque. The vehicle also includes an 8.8-kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
EPA figures will be announced in the near-future once they are available from U.S. regulators, according to Audi.
