Bollinger Motors Unveils Electric Utility Truck

Hobart, New York-based Bollinger Motors has unveiled its battery-electric B1 utility truck that the company says would be a fit for tradespeople, construction companies, and government fleets.

The company has been discussing the vehicle with the U.S. Park Service for use by park rangers, according to Jeff Holland, a Bollinger spokesman.

Bollinger unveiled its B1 on July 27 at a media event in New York City at the Classic Car Club of Manhattan.

The B1's propulsion system consists of dual-motor electric powertrain that produces 360 horsepower and 472 lb.-ft. of torque. The production vehicle will offer lithium-ion battery pack options of 60 kWh that enables a range of 120 miles or 100 kWh that provides 200 miles.

Users can charge the vehicle on a 110-volt or 220-volt circuit via a J1772 universal connector, while Level 3 DC fast charging is accomplished via a CHAdeMO port on the vehicle's fender.

The vehicle measures 150 inches in overall length with a 105-inch wheelbase, 76.5 inches wide, and 73.5 inches tall. It has a 50-50 weight balance, all-wheel drive, and an aluminum chassis with a high-strength steel rollover structure.

Battery components are encased with water-tight seals, so the vehicle can be submersed in 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes.

The B1 rides on Mud Terrain LT285/70/R17 tires with aluminum wheels. The vehicle weighs 3,900 pounds.
