A: If you have an automatic onboard recording device (AOBRD), such as Fleetmatics LogBook, that automatically captures engine power status, vehicle motion status, miles driven, and engine hours at the change of duty status, implemented prior to the December 18, 2017, ELD mandate deadline, you are already compliant.
Fleets with AOBRDs installed prior to the deadline will have until December 16, 2019, to install an ELD- compliant solution.
Fleetmatics will upgrade its existing customers’ AOBRD devices with a seamless software upgrade well before the December 2019 deadline.
